Now look at how U.S. employment has been effected from Dec ‘08 to May ‘09. The red line indicates Dec ‘08. Look at how “All Goods” and “All Services” below compare to “Durables” (aka Goods) and “Services” above. Virtually identical patters of impact.

By the way, with regard to my earlier post about positive employment in the health sector, almost all the change you see above in “Education & Health” actually comes from health while the education portion of this sector is virtually flat.
